Attention Medina Rugby Fans! The moment that all our teams start out working towards in the Winter has finally arrived with the State Championship Tournaments starting Saturday, May 29th.
We also would like to wish our Middle School Girls the best of luck in their journey to Cincinnati this Saturday to compete in the Rookie Rugby Ohio State Playoffs.
Our HS players will begin their quest for a State title this weekend with the State Semifinal matches at Fortress Obetz (2015 Recreation Trail, Obetz, OH 43207). The HS Boys will be playing on a grass pitch on the grounds outside of the stadium and the HS Girls’ match will be payed inside the stadium, so there will be a live stream and announcers for the girls’ match. Below is the match schedule, address and ticket information.
Busses leave the school at 9:00am and will depart Obetz sometime around 6:30-6:45 PM if there are no significant delays (weather, etc..). Matches will be 60 minutes in length to allow for OT if needed. Anticipate being back in Medina around 9:00pm.
Please be sure all players bring plenty of water, all game equipment and healthy food to eat.
Pre-sale tickets are now available online for the 2021 High School Spring State Championship. All high school teams (players and staff) will receive complimentary admission into the event for both weekends. Family and friends can purchase tickets for semi-finals (5/29) and/or finals (6/5). Fees may apply.
General Admission Prices:
- $10.00 – Adult Ticket
- $5.00 – Student Pass (Ages 12 and up)
- $20.00 – Family Pass (Includes two adult tickets and two student passes)
- Free – Children ages 11 and younger
